45. A cry for help

2 Dec

If this ad doesn’t make you want to pick up the phone and help, I don’t know what will. Young and Rubicam of Chicago perfectly paired the video and music to create a horrific image of a battered woman. The tag line, “It rarely stops,” is not only disheartening, but realistic. The pain in the woman’s eyes is heavy and hard to watch. It seems almost too real. One can’t help but imagine their self in her position. I have never seen an awareness ad such as this sell its message so well. For the first time, I can imagine the hardships of a battered woman and how impossible it could feel to get help. I hope this ad can convince some women otherwise.
